Wedding Budget plan

When we got our date finalised, we did’nt know how to go about planning and arranging all the required stuff for our wedding. When we started talking to family and friends, first thing they used to ask is ” what is your budget?”. Which is when we realised that whether you’re planning to have a grand luxury wedding with a big budget or an intimate outdoor wedding that doesn’t cost as much, you always need to set a budget first. Careful planning and detailed budgeting will help you get the wedding of your dreams.

When you’re trying to have a wedding on a budget, it’s important to plan ahead. Make a list of everything you can think of, discuss the same with family and walk through these items step by step. The earlier you get started the better so you avoid the last-minute stress. Also, you’ll have more time to check on shops that are on sales and discounts and research other good ideas.

Choosing a wedding theme is a great way to create a cohesive look and feel at your event. It’s important to select a theme early as it will help you in deciding your fashion and wedding style decisions. A strong theme is also helpful for your wedding vendors as they come up with ideas for your cake, flowers, and menu. Even if you don’t know exactly what your wedding should look like, you can always browse online and see different wedding theme collections available online. Now you probably have a good idea of how you want it to feel.
Event planners can be expensive if you are planning to have a budget wedding. So, we decided to take help from our family and friends and start preparing everything on our own. Firstly we prepare our wedding budget plan.
There are various things that will  go in your list. However, we took the 4 important once first:

  1. Theme
We both like different colors but somehow for our wedding we both wanted Lavender and White. We both spent a lot of time browsing at the different ideas available online and now that we have seen it we know what we exactly want and have the confidence to create something of our own for our wedding.
  2. Venue (Outdoor or Indoor / Club, Hall or Resort)
The venue usually costs the most. When booking your wedding venue, take note of the peak & low seasons. Usually, weekends are more expensive than weekdays and also, having a wedding reception at night will also cost you more than choosing a daytime wedding reception.
  3. Flowers (Church décor, Bridal Bouquet, Boutonniere, Ring Pillow, flower girl’s basket, etc.,)

When choosing wedding flowers, you will be charged more if you decide to have more types of flowers instead of a larger quantity of the same flowers. Another thing to consider is that having new fresh flowers for both the wedding ceremony and the reception will cost you more. Hence, we decided to make our own. I got the lovely satin ribbons, artificial flowers, lace, decorative pins and buttons from Dragon Mart and Day-to-Day in Dubai. It’s the best shop if you want to buy all these stuff and won’t cost you much.

  1. Catering
Do pick your menu smartly. Choosing the right menu is crucial for your wedding. If you want fancy delicacies such as meats and seafood, it will work out expensive. If you know the chef, it is better if you take his advice on seasonal menu or if they have any set menu for weddings. Have a buffet with minimal items yet your guest preferance when you select your menu. Remember wedding food is considered as very important aspect in a wedding. If the food was yummy, they will definetly speak about it even after the wedding and recommend the same caterer to others aswell.

Will share more about my wedding budget ideas in my next blog. Keep reading and please feel free to post your comments and like my page.
